Doula Services

Katie Cavuto MS, RD, Chef
Doula

What Does a Doula Do?

The Word "Doula" means "a person who serves" and the role dates back thousands of years and has been seen throughout history in many cultures and time periods. A doula supports the emotional and physical needs of a person, traditionally women, through pregnancy, birth and beyond but life doesn't stop there, and that is why Honoring You provides doula support people through all of life's journey's, including bereavement, childhood, companionship care and end of life/hospice care too.

It takes a village to move through our difficult moments and it's lovely to have a village to celebrate the beautiful moments too!

So, if you're in need of a helping hand, we will be there for you, and that includes men, women, grandparents, families of all kinds - single parents (moms and dads!), and adoptive parents too.

Our purpose is to accompany you throughout life's journeys, helping you feel comfortable, loved, supported and cared for, in a way that feels right to you.

We look forward to meeting you!

With love and gratitude,

Katie

Service Demographics

Prenatal Support

Prenatal care and support could include calming techniques for you, nutrition education, helping with to-do's, meal preparation and education and support as you prepare for parenthood! It's whatever you need and nothing more!

Postpartum Support

While postpartum is often considered to be birth through 3 months, we often need more support! This period of time, that can easily include the first year, is when baby is adjusting to the world and you're adjusting too and there are so many ways I can support you.

Childhood Support

After the first year, your child continues to grow and change in so many ways and life can have a way of throwing us a few curveballs too. So, if you need an extra hand, some loving kindness for you or your child(ren), validation, emotional support...you name it, this is for you.

Companion & Respite Care

No matter your age, from early childhood to adults and seniors too, there are times that we need someone there to simply be a friend and lend a helping hand. During periods of change and transition this can be incredibly helpful for children, parents,  partners and more as it can free up the space we need to care for ourselves too.

Bereavement Support

Receiving love, care and comfort during a loss of any kind is incredibly important. Having support for other family members, including children too, can provide you the space you need to process emotions with the assurance that your loved ones are being cared for too.

Hospice Support

There is love and support available for you and your loved one's during their final days and it can allow you the space you need to care for yourself in a meaningful way. Be it help with everyday to-do's, companionship care or bedside support, love will be there for you.
